Unplug and Recharge
There's nothing wrong with putting all of your energy toward your goals, but it is just as important to give yourself a break every now and then. Downtime is just as important to your success as working hard can be.
Unfortunately, with the advent of the smartphone came a new degree of connectivity. At any given moment, we're only a few keystrokes away from work emails, social media, or news outlets. Our minds are in the habit of constant stimulation to the point that, when forced with the prospect of "unplugging", we tend to panic.
Deep breaths. It's going to be fine. We're here to show you why taking time for yourself is non-negotiable, wonderful, and the best tactic for success.
For one thing, it's so easy to get wrapped up in what's going wrong in our lives that we often forget to be thankful for what's going right. We live in a world of endless possibilities. Face the day with gratitude and you'll find them at each and every turn.
Second, giving 100% of yourself every day takes a toll on our bodies, minds, and spirits. Take time to loosen up. Laughter decreases stress and increases endorphins. Use it to create a positive atmosphere anywhere you go.
Third, though sometimes it's difficult, looking on the bright side is critical. Train your brain to stay positive and make the most of your every day. Soon a great attitude will come naturally.
Finally, decrease stress and boost creativity by changing up your routine. Take a break from your hectic schedule and write, draw, or color your way to calm. Indulging your inner artist can ease anxiety and increase focus.
